Founded in Frankfurt in 1983, the former Racine team grew rapidly and gradually developed Universal Hydraulik GmbH into an independent company.
In 1984, the company secured the Bosch distributorship for Hesse, followed by the Racine distributorship for Europe in 1985. This laid the foundation for high-quality products combined with technical expertise.
In 1992 and 1993, the distribution of various heat exchanger manufacturers (Thermal Transfer, Nissens, Thermowave, and WTT) added further products requiring explanation. This established the foundation for the company's expertise in thermodynamics.
In 1993, the company moved into its first company-owned building in Neu-Anspach.
Production capacity was expanded in 1996.
In 1999, additional infrastructure was created with the construction of another warehouse.
During this phase, the company's direction became clear. What began as a trading company evolved into a business with its own technical expertise and increasing vertical integration.
The foundation for everything that followed.

Today we introduce Alberto Zenebre from our sales team.
He brings many years of experience in heat exchanger technology, including production, work preparation, and technical customer support. This combination makes him a strong contact person for our customers when it comes to practical and technically sound solutions.

Bare Tube Heat Exchangers or hybrid coolers: Which solution is the right choice today?
For a century, smooth-tube heat exchangers have stood for robust and reliable cooling. They remain a proven solution, especially for highly contaminated media and demanding operating conditions.
However, with increasing demands on efficiency, installation space, and power density, hybrid coolers are gaining in importance.
Thanks to their larger heat transfer surface, they enable high performance with a compact design, thus contributing to efficient system design.
In practice, hybrid coolers offer clear advantages in many applications, while smooth-tube coolers continue to be used where maximum robustness is crucial.
Universal Hydraulik develops and manufactures both technologies and supports you in selecting the optimal solution for every application.

What began with an idea and an entrepreneurial initiative has evolved over the decades into an industrial company that has continuously developed and adapted to new technological and market demands.
Corporate development is not a single moment, but rather the result of many decisions, changes, and collaborative efforts.
In the coming weeks, we will offer insights into selected milestones in our development. This will not be a complete chronicle, but rather a look at defining moments in our company's history.

The Hannover Messe has begun, once again bringing together the international industry in Hanover.
Even though we won't be exhibiting in 2026, we are closely following the developments, topics, and trends at the fair. Many of the trends discussed there—from digitalization and energy efficiency to new manufacturing technologies—directly shape our daily work in mechanical engineering and hydraulics.
Universal Hydraulik last exhibited at the fair in 2025 and made extensive use of the event for personal interaction with customers, partners, and industry professionals. These direct conversations remain a key component of our sales and innovation efforts.
At the same time, it's clear that industrial sales are evolving. Alongside traditional trade fair formats, continuous exchange, digital channels, and targeted customer outreach are gaining increasing importance.
Leading trade fairs remain a crucial element—however, their effectiveness depends heavily on how strategically they are integrated into overall sales strategies.
For us, one thing is clear: the combination of personal interaction, digital formats, and long-term customer relationships is what makes modern industrial communication successful.
We wish all exhibitors and visitors a successful trade fair week in Hanover with exciting discussions and new impulses for the industry of tomorrow.

Over 20,000 heat exchangers per year, and every single one must be absolutely leak-proof!
In the production of our ShellTubi shell and tube heat exchangers, every detail counts. Even the smallest leaks can have major consequences during later operation, which is why we rely on consistent quality controls throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Every single ShellTubi heat exchanger is inspected 4 times during production. Our production and quality teams work with the utmost precision and experience, with only one goal: maximum operational reliability for our customers. Because for us, quality isn't created at the end of production; it's created in every single process step.
Rely on proven quality and reliable cooling technology with ShellTubi. Heat exchangers from Universal Hydraulik.
