Our new development (Hybrid-Safety Heat Exchanger, SCM/FS) in 2014 greatly improved performance for our customers – more affordable (costs) in terms of consistent safety.
The 100% electronic monitoring is suitable for all Industry 4.0 applications. Safety Heat Exchanger is used for applications where an error could lead to serious consequences.
A safety heat exchanger is a double-tube heat exchanger in which two tubes are arranged concentrically to ensure the safe separation of the media. In the event of damage, this design prevents the medium being cooled from mixing with the cooling medium, thus minimizing the risk of machine failure.
Universal Hydraulik safety heat exchangers are used wherever mixing of media could lead to significant damage – for example, in hydraulic and transmission systems, test benches, the oil and gas industry, or marine applications. They ensure maximum reliability and protection in critical processes.
Universal Hydraulik safety heat exchangers feature a double-tube design with a barrier fluid between the tubes and 100% electronic monitoring that detects leaks and transmits alarm and control signals to the machine control system. Leakage detectors with ATEX certification or marine approvals are available as options.
Compared to standard shell and tube heat exchangers, a safety heat exchanger offers an additional layer of protection: It actively prevents the mixing of media in the event of a leak, thus significantly reducing risks to systems and the environment. The robust twin-tube design and electronic monitoring further contribute to operational safety.
